June 1942
This month marks 3 months of marriage. Our heroes remain as blissful as ever but the g.d. war keeps getting in the way. Now they’ve stopped all passes while they increase their training on the big guns. They’re planning to test by the end of the month so no one is supposed to be going anywhere. Maybe love will find a way. Maybe a typewriter in the backseat of the car will fix the tardy issues on his passes so he can get in the gate. Maybe.

1942 Memorial Day - Saturday, May 30th.

Pay Raise
Washington D.C., is still debating as the Senate votes for a $50 per month base pay for service men with overwhelming approval 58-20. It would be really, really good news if they'd make up their minds. Just when that money gets to the actual troops, Dad will believe it when he sees it. More good news are the dependent allowances. Nothing has changed for this month however.

Meanwhile in Hartford....
Mom continues working at Pratt – Whitney, an aircraft manufacturer in East Hartford. She’s mostly in administration and entry level at that making the minimum wage of $0.30 per hour. She run memos and documents around the place and escorts visitors to and from meetings as part of a secretary pool. Living at the trailer park isn’t great for her. It’s kinda run down and shitty. It’s no wonder Dad worries about her so much. And worries about you know what. Remember, in 1942 it's not "if" you're getting pregnant but "when". This vote is just for married women to get access. It makes me want to scream. At least it's going on the ballot.
